Adult Fiction Submission Guidelines

Grace Bell Publishing is currently CLOSED to submissions of fiction manuscripts until the end of 2026. Please follow the guidelines below and ensure all requested information is included in the body of your email. Attachments will not be opened.

Please make sure you have read the general submission page, first.

In your email please include the following:

Submission Details

Genre: (e.g. contemporary, romance, historical etc)

Word Count: (e.g. 70,000 words)

Pitch: 1–2 sentences summarising the story.

Blurb: a short, 2 to 3 paragraph blurb about about the story. 

Author Information

Bio: Include basic information such as interests, writing achievements, etc. State which Australian state or territory you are from.

Why Grace Bell Publishing: A statement on why you are submitting to GBP. 

Other Information: List relevant memberships (e.g. Omega Writers), critique groups, or other details that support your submission.

Online Presence

Include any links to social media profiles and/or an author website at the bottom of your email.

Manuscript

Paste the first five pages or first chapter manuscript at the bottom of your email. Do not send an attachment.

Note: the manuscript does not need to be complete before submitting. Please just say where the manuscript is at in development. 

Also, please state if you would be interested in studio-led projects (the FAQ page explains about the studio-led projects)

Due to submission volume, we may not be able to respond to every submission. If you have not heard from us within 12 weeks, please consider your submission unsuccessful
