Recommended Reading

For a general understanding of the publishing industry, we recommend the Writers’ & Artists’ Yearbook. While it is a UK publication, some aspects of the publishing process are  similar in Australia. You may also be able to borrow a copy from your local library.

What We are Looking For Overall

We are seeking stories that are interesting, well written, have a clear hook, and match with Grace Bell Publishing's company brand.

If you would like some further information about the manuscript wish list, there is a five part blog series here. 

When submitting a manuscript, please make sure that it matches GBP's goal of publishing books that are wholesome, fun and hope-filled. 

 

Middle Grade / Teen / Young Adult

We welcome series or standalones (series preferred);

  • We’d love to see more books with an ensemble of characters
  • Topics that genuinely resonate with kids and teens
  • sport, facts, historical, fantasy, action, comedy, or contemporary genres

Ideally, your book or series will:

  • have a strong hook
  • be wholesome and fun
  • offer a fresh and unique plot
  • include some humour
  • be commercial with broad appeal to the target audience

Adult Fiction

We would love to see well-written, commercial fiction. We have a particular love for contemporary or historical fiction (please!)
